From Past
The past is a tide that drags out

"What are we as we move forward, adapting to that which is, even as our hearts yearn for what was? How may we find comfort in change, and reject the concept that all before was as it should have remained?
"They say that change is the only constant in life, a truism meant to bully all within its hearing into accepting that change must come to be. And, in this, I agree. There is no return to what was, but the lure of its flavor will haunt us all."
Nick had to contemplate the words, hating that LaCroix made sense.
