Drabble, Original, Loss & Moving Forward

You forget to breathe. Trite, but so true. The center of your world just left this plane of existence, and you stop breathing, endless futures shattering in your mind. The future that could be, the one etched in grief and pain, forms, and you take that next breath in a new life. Your soul aches, and you look at who you are, who you will be.

The grief gnaws at the fetters, and you start to see different shapes to the misery that already existed. The bars are tightening, and yet, in your grief, you find strength to shatter them.
