She was no trembling maiden nor he a lad new to the bedroom arts. Far from it, Psyche knew, and yet this moment had them both reduced to shy looks and tentative touches. Eros moved slowly, making certain that he had the right of this with her. She responded with gentle sighs and careful encouragement, seeing him as the man he was in moments like this.

Godhood set to the side, they came together in marriage, intent on one another. The trials of love were behind them now, and the blessing of Aphrodite was theirs. Every touch sanctified them eternally.
