July Challenge starts tomorrow!

Hello, everyone! It's been a long time, but I'm so happy to be back with the July mini-prompts challenge!

We come together this month over some lovely fragments of poetry from Sappho. I'm so happy and excited to see what everyone's going to create.

As always, every day during the month of July, I will post one fragment of poetry, which we can all use as a springboard for either fan-or-original fiction. I'll see you tomorrow with our first prompt!

I have a question. Apologies if it is obvious, but are we supposed to respond to the prompts with fic in the comments section of that post?

That's a great question! Originally, I thought microfiction in the comments would less intimidating for everyone, but if you would rather post your story as it's own entry, you can do that too.

Is there a word count requirement for these daily entries or any other rules? And, it is alright to reply to a prompt earlier in the month? For example, write a story inspired by the prompt on the 1st and post it on the 17th?

This is a great question! The only rule I have for the July Challenge is that there is a minimum word count of 100 words.

You can absolutely fulfill a July prompt at any point during the month. (Your example is perfectly acceptable.)
